Katye Rueth, a painter, was born on the south side of Milwaukee. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in art education as a result of a '22 year journey' through the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. In 1966, Rueth, her husband and four children moved to the countryside and she began teaching art at Hartford High School. Life changed dramatically and she found herself immersed in her passions - horses, teaching, gardening, painting. Forced to retire in 1987 due to ill health, she has moved back to the city and continues to experience the 'thrill of painting' and the 'intuitive bonding' with her horse and with nature. |
